The purpose of the Habitat Preserve is to protect this natural area while offering the local community access to connect with nature in a quiet setting and learn more about the plants and animals that inhabit an ecosystem transitioning into a mature forest. The trail was built in 2018 and is adjacent to the Village of Trumansburg, close to the Farmer's Market. The trail forms a figure 8 by the picnic table.
